‘Use your gas fire’ urges HHIC

"Use you gas fire instead of putting on the central heating," says Roger Webb, Director of the Heating and Hotwater Industry Council, HHIC.
As the weather starts to get colder HHIC's are urging homeowners to use their gas fires instead of putting on the central heating.
Mr Webb continued, "Although we are experiencing unseasonably warm weather throughout the day, early morning and last thing at night the temperatures are falling and you can feel a decided nip in the air. This is when a gas fire can really come into its own. It isn't quite cold enough to turn on the central heating but a gas fire will heat the room instantly and inexpensively whilst you are watching television of an evening."
Gas fires are cheaper to run than electric fires and unlike solid fuel provide instant, clean heat at the touch of a button.
